A Nugget of History
Horses have been integral to this region's history since the gold and copper mining days.Public horse trekking started here in 1962, becoming increasingly popular over the years.
A favourite trekking spot, Ben Lomond Station became inaccessible in 1994 after a flood washed out the access road. It then reopened 14 years later for public horse trekking exclusively through the Horse Trekking Company.
