A Nugget of History

Horses have been integral to this region's history since the gold and copper mining days.

Public horse trekking started here in 1962, becoming increasingly popular over the years.

A favourite trekking spot, Ben Lomond Station became inaccessible in 1994 after a flood washed out the access road.  It then reopened 14 years later for public horse trekking exclusively through the Horse Trekking Company.
